How to Make Sweet Potato Casserole on a Traeger Pellet Grill
Step 1 Warm up your Traeger® grill
Check your pellet hopper and make sure it is full before you begin. Set your Traeger® grill to 400 degrees, hit ENTER, then hit IGNITE. Allow the grill to preheat with the 10” cast iron skillet inside. While it is heating up, you can prep ingredients.
Step 2 Prep the sweet potatoes
Peel all the sweet potatoes. Once peeled, dice them into large chunks.
Step 3 Season the sweet potatoes
In a bowl, mix together the diced sweet potatoes with the oil, salt, pepper, and Oink rub. Mix well.
Step 4 Cook the sweet potatoes
Once the grill is hot, add the seasoned sweet potatoes to the skillet and cook at 400˚ for 15-20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
PRO TIP
Step 5 Mix the sweet ingredients
While the potatoes are cooking, mix the butter, syrup, vanilla, Fire Salt, sugar, cinnamon, and allspice. Mix until fully combined.
Step 6 Add the mixture to the potatoes
Once the potatoes are tender, carefully pour the butter mixture over the sweet potatoes and mix well. Cook at 400 degrees for another 10 minutes to reduce the sauce.
Step 7 Add the marshmallows
Carefully top the sweet potatoes with the marshmallows. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until the marshmallows are cooked to your preferred doneness.
Step 8 Serve
Using heat-resistant gloves, carefully remove the cast iron skillet from the grill. Allow it to cool for three minutes before serving.
