Ingredients

  • 3 ea – Granny Smith Apples (peeled and sliced)
  • 4 ea  – Honeycrisp Apples (peeled and sliced)
  • 1 Tbsp – Lemon Juice
  •  ½ Cup – Granulated Cane Sugar
  • ½ Cup – Dark Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp – All Purpose Flour
  • 1-2 Tbsp -Cornstarch
  • 1 tsp – Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp – Allspice
  • 1 ea – Deep Dish Pie Shell
  • 10oz pkg Crisp/Streusel Topping
  • 5 Tbsp – Salted Butter (room temp)

How to Make Apple Pie on a Traeger® Pellet Grill

Step 1 Preheat Your Grill

Make sure your pellet hopper is full before you begin. Set your Traeger® grill to 385 degrees, hit ENTER, then hit IGNITE. Allow the grill to preheat while you prep ingredients.

Step 2 Prep the apples

Using the apple peeler/corer machine, peel all the apples. Place all the peeled apples in a bowl, toss with lemon juice, and store in the fridge.

Step 3 Mix the dry ingredients

In a separate bowl, mix together the dry ingredients, including sugars, flour, cornstarch, cinnamon, and allspice. Mix the flour mixture well and set aside.

Step 4 Prep the pie dough

Remove pie dough (already in pan) from fridge and let soften at room temp for 15 minutes.

Prepare the packaged apple crisp topping and set it aside.

Step 6 Mix the apples and flour mixture

Mix apples and flour mixture together in a large bowl.

Step 7 Place the apples into the pie shell

Evenly place the apple mixture into the pie shell. Top the apple mixture with the crisp topping and spread out evenly.

PRO TIP
Cover pie dough edges with foil to prevent over cooking dough. Remove the foil during last 15 minutes of cooking to brown the edges.

Step 8 Bake the pie

Bake the pie in the Traeger at 385˚ for 30 minutes.

Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until pie liquid is thick and not runny.

Remove from the Traeger and rest for 15 minutes.

Slice and serve with Vanilla Ice Cream or Cinnamon Ice Cream.
