How to make grilled sweet potatoes on a Weber® Gas Grill
Step 1 Preheat Your Grill
Fire up all burners on your Weber gas grill and preheat until the grill reaches 400° F.
Step 2 Season the Potatoes
Place the sweet potatoes in a medium stainless steel bowl, drizzle oil over the potatoes and season with Bayou Dust Rub to taste.
Step 3 Insert Potato Nails (Optional)
When inserting the nails into the sweet potatoes, make sure you grip each potato around the outside and poke the sweet potato from the bottom until the nail comes out through the top.
Step 4 Grill the Potatoes
Add the potatoes to the warming rack on the grill or place them on the grill grates with indirect heat. Cook for approximately 45 minutes, or until an internal temp of 205° F.
Step 5 Rest Potatoes Before Serving
Remove the potatoes from the grill using tongs and heat resistant gloves, and place them on a cooking sheet to cool for 2–3 minutes.
Step 6 Plate and Serve
Slice potatoes down the center, then add any or all of these optional ingredients:
- Rub-A-Dub BBQ Rub
- Butter
- Cinnamon Whipped Cream
- Praline Pecans
