  • 4 medium sized sweet potatoes
  • 2 tbsp canola/olive oil blend
  • 1 ½ tbsp Bayou Dust Rub
  • Optional add-ons:
    • 4 tbsp salted butter
    • 1 tsp Rub-A-Dub BBQ Rub
    • 1/2 cup cinnamon whipped cream (or regular)
    • 1/2 cup praline pecans

How to make grilled sweet potatoes on a Weber® Gas Grill

Step 1 Preheat Your Grill

Fire up all burners on your Weber gas grill and preheat until the grill reaches 400° F.

Step 2 Season the Potatoes

Place the sweet potatoes in a medium stainless steel bowl, drizzle oil over the potatoes and season with Bayou Dust Rub to taste.

Step 3 Insert Potato Nails (Optional)

When inserting the nails into the sweet potatoes, make sure you grip each potato around the outside and poke the sweet potato from the bottom until the nail comes out through the top.

Step 4 Grill the Potatoes

Add the potatoes to the warming rack on the grill or place them on the grill grates with indirect heat. Cook for approximately 45 minutes, or until an internal temp of 205° F.

Step 5 Rest Potatoes Before Serving

Remove the potatoes from the grill using tongs and heat resistant gloves, and place them on a cooking sheet to cool for 2–3 minutes.

Step 6 Plate and Serve

Slice potatoes down the center, then add any or all of these optional ingredients:

  • Rub-A-Dub BBQ Rub
  • Butter
  • Cinnamon Whipped Cream
